It's been a while since I've posted about this painting, and quite a bit has changed. I'm past the beginning and well into the middle of it. The figures are filling out, and there's enough "there" there that you feel like you could walk right into the painting. That's part of the pleasure of working so big. I'm aiming for some good progress over the next month or so.

The sky is still red. I tried lightening it at the horizon, and I think I like that - another layer or two will give the sky more depth and realism despite the color. I don't have a title for this painting yet.
