"Speaking the Language of Birds", although not quite finished, is on view at R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton, MA - out of my studio and (temporarily) out in the world. My big painting wall is prepped and ready to start a new piece. I've been working on the composition for the last month. It was inspired by my newest model, Adriana, who I met last summer during a weekend with old friends. These were my final choices: to set the painting along a river in Maine, the salt marshes of Westport, Massachusetts or Chalk Sound in the Turks and Caicos.

The canvas will accommodate a painting that is 80" x 66". Today I sketched it out on the primed linen, which is pinned to the wall. I selected the middle image, with Westport as the backdrop.
