So busy this summer, hard to find enough studio time. As I wander in and out (one of the best parts of having a studio attached to your home), it gives me time to contemplate the issues. I am quite pleased with the way this painting is coming along, but there are issues. The primary question is the color of the sky.

Red or blue? I didn't plan to leave it red. But I do love the way the figures and birds bounce against that vibrant color. It also gives the painting a bit of an otherworldly feel. If I add another layer of paint, make it denser and richer, it could be the way to go.

By mid-August, I should have some quality time in the studio. We'll see where that takes me.
